Does grip glue make that much of a difference? I also heard that spray paint works? Whats your opinion?

Don't utilize the stuff. Always sprayed the grip with a window cleaning product, applied and wire-tied; however, I have tried to use grip glue but found it to be messy and a fleck of a pain to make clean off before applying the adjacent set of grips.

Not having grip glue and wire on my left grip cost me the overall at one of the biggest races of my life.

I think wires are more than of import than the glue though. They still spin with only the mucilage in identify simply non when I wire them on.

contact cleaner and a quick install will bail the grips and they slide on easy! I ever use rubber wire even though they seem to stay put without information technology. I tried paint and glue etc. but too messy. Effort my way, its fast, easy, clean and they stay put.

dont spiral with me, i am old and feeling grumpy..

Im the same way, use some 3M adhesive and the grip slides correct on easily (the glue serves as lube at get-go), wait two-minutes and youre fix to race. No wires. Ive never had a grip motion with the 3M and it comes off easy enough with Berrymans Chemtool spray.

I dont sympathize the whole wire thing, its only not needed.

Simply ane petty fleck of communication- sometimes grips stay on fine, until a mud race when they can start spinning (or worse). I e'er become the extra mile with glue and safety wire.

Not all grip glue is the same. We use Renthal grip mucilage, which is very much like the 3M weatherstrip agglutinative. Have tried some other grip glues which were worse than using nothing. Still take to wire, no thing what. But the grip glue helps get the grip onto the bar, and helps hold better than wire lone.

I don't employ glue or wires. These ODI grips are 20 buck, merely they bolt on and considering the ends protect the rubber, the grips last for a long fourth dimension even after crashing, and they don't come off, even in mud, water or crashes.

That was the worst ever.

I was putting grips on my 07 suzuki dr650 and it took forever. The clutch side came off easy but on the throttle side the grip was fused to the throttle body. Took my an hr to slowly clamper the grip off. Then i said F it and took the throttle torso off and dremeled the shit out of information technology. I but slid the throttle grip on with water. Then on the clutch side i decided to effort the gorilla glue. Wow that sucked. It simply added friction to it. Took similar 20 min to go on my grip is pretty much half worn from all the tugging.

Im never irresolute grips on that matter once again.

Does red paint piece of work too?
JK. I utilise pilus spray. Makes putting on the grip easy while wet, and so hold it somewhat in one case dry.
I then wire the grips, mostly because I have a absurd set of wiring pliers.

I dont empathize the whole wire thing, its just not needed.

Must be a Suzuki thing...

That's what I use, only I clean the old stuff off with lacquer thinner.
